My career (so far…)
In my current role at SaaScada I am a Senior Software Architect working with the engineering team to deliver next-generation Core Banking systems.
I’ve been in this role since June 2022 and it’s been very interesting so far, a new industry and a chance to learn new technologies is always an exciting challenge.
I worked IRIS for five years over a number of different roles. Starting as a Software Engineer I eventually came to lead a team as Head of App Engineering.
I loved working on Guest Web which was the guest facing web app that I built from scratch that in tandem with the rest of the platform allowed guests to order food and request services.
At DLG I worked as part of the Digital team from 2014 to 2017 as my first role out of University. I worked with many different technologies and projects each with their own challenges and successes.
Not only did I work in a few different teams I also met so many amazing people at DLG and the memories will live with me forever.
As part of my University studies I worked for a year at Cisco as a Software Engineer in the Professional Services group.
This was my first experience of shipping “production level” code, including a TV guide for the 2014 Winter Olympics. I learnt so much in my brief time there and found a passion for Web development technologies.
At UoP I earned a Computer Science BSc degree after four years of studying and well… lets call it “socialising”.
Going to University was a pivotal moment not just in my career but in my life where I would meet some life long friends and really learn and refine what I wanted to do for the rest of my career.
